I am devoting this blog to educating readers about LGBT rights in general and about oppressed populations throughout the world. I care about making people better allies and better activists. I am not interested in blaming people.
Since our mission has been simple: to build, support, and unite the LGBTQ aviation community worldwide. Our membership ranges from college students to career pilots and members who just simply love aviation. We ALL love aviation and invite you to join this safe place we call home, and our family.
Today we mark the 30th anniversary of National Coming Out Day! Thirty years ago, on the anniversary of the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, we first observed National Coming Out Day as a reminder that one of our most basic tools is the power of coming out. One out of every two Americans has someone close to them who is gay or lesbian.
For one day, hundreds of LGBTQ folks, families, and allies come together to show their pride and enjoy the animals and sights at the National Zoological Park. This year we are excited to announce that we will be featuring programming for families, and youth ages 0 — A star indicates that this is an IFED event. This schedule lists all of the IFED rainbow enhanced events.
The greatest place for LGBT people to experience all the wonderful things that come from participation in team sports. Through our league, our events and most importantly our members, we also seek to foster and augment the self-respect of all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons and to promote respect and understanding from the larger community. While particular emphasis is placed on these specific goals, it is a fundamental principle of NGFFL that all activities, social and athletic, are conducted to be inclusive in nature and that no individual shall be excluded from participating on the basis of sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, political beliefs, athletic ability, physical challenge, HIV status or gender identity.

In more recent years, the idea of the " lesbian and gay community " has been largely subsumed into the idea of the LGBT communityand the idea of "coming out" expanded to include not only the voluntary self-disclosure of a lesbian, gay, or bisexual sexual orientationbut also that of transgendernon-binarygenderqueer, or other non-mainstream gender identity. Eichberg, who died in of complications from AIDSwas a psychologist from New Mexico and founder of the personal growth workshop, The Experience. This caused them to found NCOD in order to maintain positivity and celebrate coming out.
Today is National Coming Out Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of civil rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Sharing our stories is a key way each of us can fight back against attempts to turn back the clock on LGBTQ equality. The idea for the day was the culmination of four months of momentum where more than activists were gathered in Manassas, Virginia, near Washington D. The American Psychological Association said positive feelings about one's sexual orientation foster greater well-being and mental health.
